Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been jeered by a large crowd during a rally in Sydney calling for further action to combat antisemitism in Australia.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was booed at a rally in Sydney, as protesters called for a stronger response to antisemitism in Australia.
The "Enough is Enough" protest took place in Sydney's CBD on Sunday, with a crowd of about 3,000 people aiming to send a clear message to the Prime Minister that more action was required on antisemitism.
A number of signs criticising the government were spotted multiple times through the crowd, including some reading: "Leadership fails, hate prevails!" and "Action against anti-Semitism NOW!".
Mr Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong were also targeted with signs of "Albo the world is watching" and "Penny Wrong".

Both also received boos from the crowd during the peaceful protest.
Midnight Oil's song Beds Are Burning was also quoted as one protester referenced the firebombing of the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne: "How can you sleep when your synagogues are burning", the sign read.
Advocacy group Together with Israel's Hagit Ashual told the crowd the Jewish community had been waiting 14 months for the government to act after Australia experienced a rise in antisemitism following Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
“We are here because we have reached a tipping point as resilient people,” she said, according to The Daily Telegraph.
“We are here to demand that our government take strong measures to stop anti-Semitism and bring back peace to our streets.”

Ms Ashual also sent a direct message to Mr Albanese, saying "we need you to take action".
“We need you to take a no tolerance approach to antisemitism, hatred, and violent speech in our streets … that time to act is now,” she said.
Rabbi of The Great Synagogue, Benjamin Elton, also spoke saying Australia was at a "tipping point".
“Now is the time to take a stance, because all of Australia is going to suffer if Jews or Christians or Muslims or anyone else cannot assemble in their places of worship in freedom and in safety, and with an understanding that we respect each other,” he said.
“We are now at a tipping point. This is no longer a threat, this is our reality.
"In Australia in 2024, they’re burning down synagogues, and now we have to say enough is enough.”
The protest follows an antisemitic attack on the suburb of Woollahra in Sydney's east after the garage and concrete fencing of at least two properties and footpaths on Magney St were spray-painted with "kill Israiel" (sic) and "death 2 Israiel" (sic) in black.
A red Toyota Corolla was also firebombed and severely damaged.
It came about a week after the Adass synagogue was firebombed.
Mr Albanese labelled the Sydney attack an "outrage" and stated he stood with the Jewish community and that there's "no place for hatred or antisemitism in our community".
He also declared the synagogue fire would be treated as a terrorist incident while he also announced $32.5 million in funding to the Executive Council of Australian Jewry to strengthen security at Jewish community sites.
